New exhibition: About Africa!
25th November 2018to21st April 2019
About Africa! is an exhibition that stems from a museological exercise. We challenged dozens of researchers and specialists, who have selected pieces and words and used them to open a path into a diverse and manifold Africa.
The exhibition will contain emblematic pieces of diverse provenance and nature, chosen by researchers and specialists from various fields of study. Each piece tells a story and fuels the analysis and reflection of the person who has selected it. Taken as a whole, the pieces, and the reasons of those who have chosen them, tell the story of a plural Africa. The choices made by the researchers and specialists serve as the basis for the design of an open and unconstrained museological narrative, of a circuit which allows the visitor to set their his path rather than follow a predefined one.
About Africa! is curated by António Camões Gouveia (NOVA | CHAM) and relies on the participation and collaboration of several institutions, associations and researchers.
